Avon (Ind.) High School quarterback Brandon Peters is set to visit Ann Arbor for the first time as an offered prospect this weekend for the Spring Game. Many people who follow recruiting closely think that Peters could pull the trigger while on his visit and pledge to the Wolverines. So, will Brandon Peters be the Michigan quarterback in the 2016 class?
After exchanging a few texts with Peters I can say with great confidence that he will not commit while in Ann Arbor. On the surface that may seem like bad news but it's all part of a big-picture plan that Peters has had for some time now.
"I definitely won't be committing on my visit to Michigan," Peters said. "I'm taking visits to LSU and Nebraska before I do anything. I'll be at Nebraska April 11 for their Spring Game and I'll be at LSU April 18. I think that's their Spring Game too. I'm real close to making a decision but not until I take those visits."
We turn the calendars over to the month of April tomorrow and will likely wait a month until we know where Peters will play his college football. Given his current plan he would finish up his visit to LSU on April 19 and would take the rest of April to sort things out.
He said "I'd say May," when asked when he'll end his recruitment and announce his decision.
Stay tuned for more updates throughout the week and into the weekend as visitors make their way in and out of Ann Arbor.
