My Very Early Estimates

This is how I see our schedule rated toughest to easiest games. I considered home field advantage and made slight adjustments for changes in 2015 preseason rankings over 2014. That was not significant.

You can really look at the Utah game as a very big weathervane for the rest of the season. We win there decisively and I think we have a pretty good case for 9 wins. If we don't win there I think 9 wins will require us to win a very tough game in Happy Valley vs an improving PSU team or beat a preseason top-5 ranked OSU or MSU. If we lose Utah I think we may look at 8 wins as our likely ceiling. I think this first year under Harbaugh is a transition year. Look for 2016 and beyond for the BIG THINGS.

2015 Schedule Rated Toughest to Easiest Games
(Considering home field advantage plus preseason rankings)
1 - - Ohio St.
2 - - Michigan St
3 - - At Penn St
4 - - At Utah
5 - - At Minnesota
6 - - At Maryland
7 - - At Indiana
8 - - Brigham Young
9 - - Northwestern
10 - Rutgers
11 - Oregon St
12 - UNLV

Additional NOTE: If we don't beat Utah, the Minnesota game looks like a coin-flip.
