Sherrone needs to get that OC nailed down soon. A good QB isn’t going to transfer to UM until they know who the OC is.

Moore also needs to work on his staff. He needs
experienced analysts that he can talk with year round.

Harbaugh was always consulting the older analysts on his staff. Apparently he never made a move without running it by a bunch of trusted coaches on his side.

Kirk Campbell should be able to stay working in football. He got over a 2M dollar parting gift from UM.

Is the a possibility that Will Johnson returns for next season since this season was a injury filled one. He seems like he might be the type to stay, especially with his NIL and that he’s still active in the community (toy drive, etc.).

Missouri has entered the equation.

One of the “problems” with getting Underwood is that you can’t go after anyone in the portal and tell them the job is theirs. They know they’re going to be competing with a very promising freshman. With 1 year of eligibility left it wouldn’t surprise me if some of these guys only consider programs where they’re a day 1 lock.

Doesn’t mean Michigan out of the equation for Moss or anyone else, but a little more to overcome. It’s a good “problem” to have, and there are many QBs out there so, no reason why Sherrone shouldn’t shop around either.

Locking up an OC is key, doubt many QB portal guys are going to consider Michigan seriously until that piece of the puzzle is solved. Will be a fun couple of weeks to see it all play out!

I keep hearing that some well-placed people say he's gone if he doesn't win it all. He's 66-10!

Is there a scenario in which Michigan has a coach who is 66-10, and we lose to OSU four out of those ten times, and there is a serious discussion about firing the guy?

I don't think there is. If they get rid of him, the OSU fanbase will be nuts.

Can confirm that Michigan has made contact with FAU RB CJ Campbell from the portal.


On top of that, Michigan has also reached out to Northwestern OL Josh Thompson. Thompson is from Fenton, Mich.


Don’t have much more to add quite yet as both are preliminary contacts.

I've come to conclusion...
A. NOBODY KNOWS WHO.
B. It's not anyone being talked about
C. If it doesn't happen by Monday it's someone still in the playoff or NFL.

Two offensive coordinator changes have been made official after being some of the worst kept secrets out there right now.

Florida State officially announced former UCF and Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn as offensive coordinator. The G5 HC to P4 OC move might become more common moving forward.

Oklahoma has hired Washington State's OC Ben Arbuckle to the same position. Some think his QB, John Mateer, maybe a package deal and would follow him to Oklahoma.

Relevance to Michigan? We don't really know.

Dan Mullen is obviously a name that was heard early in regard to potential change at OC in Michigan. He reportedly spoke with Oklahoma and they have obviously gone a different route. Mateer is a common name listed as a portal goal by some for Michigan. Not sure if he would go to Oklahoma or what that would mean for the other QBs there already. I honestly have not heard much more on Mullen in the last week or so, which could mean everything or nothing.

These moves are also interesting regarding up and coming OC Brennan Marion. Those who have paid attention to me know I am a big fan of what Marion is doing at UNLV. I was told by a source recently that some view his offense as "gimmicky" and have concerns about adjustments that would need to be made at the P4 level. He was rumored as a potential candidate at Oklahoma and Florida State. With UNLV head coach Barry Odom's name being thrown around for some HC openings, I wonder if he just may follow him to a new gig?

Along with Mullen and Marion, the name most often discussed in circles as of late has been Toledo HC Jason Candle. Both Miami and Ohio State have shown interest in Candle as OC in recent years, and he was reportedly a candidate for HC at MSU as well. I've seen his name mentioned with some HC openings so it will be interesting to see his career path choice because he's taken Toledo as far as it will go and it's so hard for G5 coaches to move up in this current landscape.

Bruce Feldman mentioned Tulane's Joe Craddock before the game Saturday. I had heard his name before so this wasn't too shocking, but still odd for Feldman to drop his name. Craddock was already getting attention at Troy (played against Louisana's Lamar Morgan twice) but his first season at Tulane has gotten a lot attention. Offense is scoring 40 points a game and QB Darian Mensah is a common name mentioned when it comes potential portal adds. Could they be a package deal? Again, possible but a lot of guessing right now.

And let's remember, Kirk Campbell is currently the OC and QB coach. Until that is announced as no longer being the case, we are combing rumors and speculating. Now, we've obviously heard some of the rumors, and some of it comes from well placed sources, but we aren't just going to throw crap at the wall. You guys deserve better. So, I know you all have been craving conversation like this around potential changes, but let's be respectful the fact we are talking about someone's livelihood and this is speculation for speculation sake.

And a lot can happen through a HS career. And yes, Michigan typically has a good relationship with Cass Tech... But, any idea if there's a good relationship with Donald Tabron?
