Now is the time to use all we have to at least try to get meaningful reform. A negotiation to accept time served (or 2 games at most) will be a loss for Michigan. "They" will have an opportunity to go after Jim again (maybe for sharing french fries with a recruit).

Look at the collusion of various players lined up against Michigan. The Big10 denies due process to UM and JH, the other Big10 schools (at least some) line up behind the commish in some sort of Star Chamber to punish Michigan, the MSM clutches pearls on how evil MIchigan is for UM's nefarious scheme, which creates a huge advantage for UM. Not sure I understand how getting signs from one process confers an advantage not present in the other process. A stolen sign is a stolen sign.

It is such an evil scheme that UM needs to be punished now - before we have the results of an investigation. Yes, the Big10 has a "spreadsheet" but I have not seen any proper vetting of it to insure its veracity. Meanwhile, you see what happened to Wake Forest and MSU (Curtis Blackwell and the taping of practices). Why weren't they punished ? It is evil, right?

The Big10 is big on "sportsmanship", yet it turns a blind eye to collusion among teams to take down Michigan. Why doesn't the rest of the Big10 just have a weekly conference call among non-Michigan members where they can talk about signs, preparation, tendencies, film breakdown of UM so that the next team to play UM is properly prepared? That's sporting, right?

The big "if" is whether we have the goods - paying of recruits, taping practices, hiring PIs, etc. If so, we need to share this information while the spotlight is on UM and it is difficult for the rest of the sporting world to turn away. I fully realized the damage this may bring - but I also know the damage being selectively dished out to UM right now - and it is not going to get better as long as the status quo is allowed to continue. Transparency and accountability. That's what we need.

Accepting a time served suspension may feel ok but its not. All the chaos and punishment was heaped on UM. We get our coach back but the cancer remains and will surface again - count on it.

Negotiations, in general, are a good idea -but the idea we accept 1 or 2 games and move on is a bad idea IMHO.
What do we know that has occurred?

Defense.

This team just seems to be built for it:

Nkamoua is super athletic, and as big as Reed is, he has awfully impressive quickness. Tray brings long arms, Williams is solid, and Tscetter walls off much better. Add Dug's extreme quickness and quick hands to them. Nimari is pretty darn good as well. I saw him switch onto three different offensive players in one possession. Really aware.

That team came out of nowhere- unranked in the preseason as well.

20-21 was the last team that played great D which led to a lot of runouts and a faster-paced offense.

X-Perience.

While there's no Franz on this season's squad, there are multiple upperclassmen, seniors and 5th year guys just lime the grad and senior heavy team in 2021

And while soph Dug is this team's obvious leader, Nkmoua, Nimari , and Tray Jackson bring a ton of experience as transfers, as do players like The Big Cheese and T-Will in their third and fourth seasons.

Deep shooting from everywhere but the C:

Well, interestingly enough, Hunter did not hit a 3 in 2021, and it doesn't look like Reed has that range at this time. But for the first time in the last 2 seasons, we have more than 2 -3 players with legit 3-point range, and can realistically put out a 6'10", 6'9", 6'6", 6'4", and 5"11 lineup with all 3-point shooters.

The 20-21 team couldn't pull that off unless they were playing Johns at the C (and that was rare). The newbies have all shown the ability to shoot from deep, and it's good that Tschetter found his stroke, and T-Will rediscovered his. Similar to 2021, this team has one real PG with a combo G and SG backing him up. Back then it was Eli as the starting SG and the backup PG (though he wasn't a PG). I'd love to see Llewelllyn contribute some minutes.

it's amazing that he could actually make the backcourt dept acceptable. Dug's going to need a backup for simply rest purposes.

I saw where Georgia said they want to go to the Rose Bowl.

He gave the D FITS last year till he took that monster hit….. Anyone worried about the same passing happening on the D this year? Idk much about Maryland and honestly too tired to dig lll

I keep asking people who say it as fact, but none of them has the answer. They say “Venmo” but that doesn’t prove anything.

I want to preface this post by saying that I will share some opinions in this post but will let you all know when I’m dealing with opinion vs. fact.

Let’s get started.

There have been some rumblings that things between Michigan and the Big Ten might not make it to Friday, meaning that a negotiation could be taking place to either drop things completely or give Jim Harbaugh two games and allow him to coach against Ohio State.

After asking around, everyone I am speaking with is being intentionally vague. Dancing around the topic and dodging questions like a figure skater, not wanting to be the one to potentially leak anything. A no comment from one, “what negotiation?” from another, all seeming to parrot the company line.

Let’s say that some level of intentional ignorance is being used here.

I am told, however, that the Big Ten would be smart to negotiate here (this isn’t coming from Michigan’s side because obviously those in Michigan circles would think that).

Now, my OPINION: I THINK discussions are taking place behind the scenes and it’s being intentional that nothing leaks out to disrupt the process.

Will we make it to the Friday hearing? No clue at this point but the fact that things are so closed off, there’s a shot that it won’t.

Will continue to dig around and see what I can find out.

Have people in the know around here heard any rumblings on his extension? The regular season is over in just 9 days...how much longer is this gonna go before his future is debated by the hounds in the media? It would be in everyone's best interest to announce this next week which was hinted at but not confirmed. We go much longer and it's gonna start getting ugly no one will argue that

My Good news is this team has steel in its spine, and I expect victory number 1,000 on Saturday.

The Penn St. win was one of the most important in program history. The OSU/UM game loser is most likely out of the final four. I think we find a way.
