The NCHC has SIX of its 8 teams In the tourney (NoDak, Miami, Denver, Duluth, UNO, and St. Cloud), including 3 with worse W-L records than us (the last 3 listed above) - but those 3 have better RPIs than us. Other conferences: ECAC and HEA 3 each, WCHA 2 each, and the lowly B1G and Atlantic Hockey, 1 each.
Last team out is Bowling Green, #16 in the PWR but bumped by Atlantic Hockey tourney winner RIT (which has an RPI below .500). Yes Bowling Green had a better season than us. PWR teams 17, 18, and 19, UMass Lowell, Colgate, and U-M, were each in their conference title games and could have made the NCAAs by winning the conference championship game, but all 3 lost to higher-ranked opponents (who are in the tourney).
