Was on another site and ran into an article about the loss of population/quality bball players in the state of MI...especially Detroit/Flint.

My point being that Beilein turned out to be the perfect guy from UM in the state of MI.

1. Izzo was/is the king of recruiting the state.

2. Beilein better at scouting/developing talent for his more perimeter system which requires players who may not necessarily play that style in the state of MI. Seems like the JB system is more of a suburbian style? Notice how I kept out race directly in that comment. Nice job huh? Look at Dawkins...prep school guy.

3. Izzo now recruiting Chicago hard...can't be easy with the politics involved. Maybe JB knows what he is and isn't willing to do politically and he doesn't need the state of MI primarily to fill his roster pipeline. This is a very unique situation not to rely heavily from your own state and even a guy like Izzo is now having to adapt.

Is this why UM may now be on a level talent field with MSU in basketball? Is this why satellite camps are needed even for UM in football. The state of MI going through an economic transformation that will being different talents to the state?
