This will be the last year with the old scoreboards and antiquated technology in Michigan Stadium. In addition, a new audio system will be installed during the project. The Smith Group Inc. will lead the architectural design and manage the 2023 project.
Some key features of the new scoreboards: improved videos for replay and live look-ins, brighter and more vivid imaging, improved point-source sound systems in the bowl, and according to the proposal, the new scoreboards will be the same height at 62 feet, but much wider at 108 feet. That is 23 feet wider than the current boards.
